Dennings was in a relationship with Nick Zano - her "2 Broke Girls", co star, was in place from 2011 until 2014. When their romance ended the couple began to date Josh Groban. Both remained in a relationship up to 2016. Dennings began dating musician Andrew W.K. in 2021. After a short time, the two began to date and in May 2020, they revealed their engagement. Dennings has been a huge lover of the musician since 2014. While Dennings grew up Jewish, she has stated that she identifies more with the Jewish faith on a personal or cultural level, and she does not make religion an active part of her life. Her interests include gardening, reading, and painting. The plan was to enroll in the art program, however when her portfolio was lost in floods, her plans fell apart. She decided to take this as a warning and chose to go into acting instead. Transcendental Mindfulness is something she practices regularly. She is an activist for animal rights, as well as having a cat.
